With growth comes exciting opportunities & we are now looking for an experienced Learning & Development person to head up our team!

Key responsibilities:

  • To partner key business stakeholders to define, develop and deliver an effective L&D Strategy, that supports Gail’s business objectives and future growth plans
  • To drive the strategic direction of the L&D team, through leadership and coaching creating a professional and proactive service that promotes and supports best practices in L&D and HR, always with GAIL’s culture and values at the heart and striving for best-in-class solutions
  • Manage an annual learning needs analysis to ensure development and training needs are met
  • Be laser-focused on creating value, collaborating with key stakeholders, and leading the team to create a learning culture throughout GAIL’s that inspires and embeds a 70:20:10 approach to learning, informed by best practice and provides impactful experiences and development that sticks; maximizing the use of the appropriate digital learning methods
  • To develop Gail’s approach on succession planning and talent development, identifying and creating learning opportunities and solutions to build capability and maximize potential
  • To evolve and maintain the ‘Kneading your Career’ program for all roles in GAIL’s to build future capability and talent pipelines, supporting the continuous growth of the business
  • To work in collaboration with Head of L&D for Central Craft Bakery to ensure all opportunities are optimized to build management and leadership capability, develop talent, and embed career paths across the group
  • Work closely with senior management to ensure all management performance is according to Values Framework, and PDP’s are set in line with personal needs to ensure continuous development and progression of people in GAIL’s
  • To partner local leadership teams to support ongoing reinforcement and embedding of GAIL’s values & culture, ensuring they are explicit in our core offer of development
  • Upskill key stakeholders and management to have the skills and capabilities to deliver business goals and personal KPI’s. Ensure all people in GAIL’s have the necessary skills to deliver strategic business objectives
  • Use data and learner feedback to build an insight into the impact of the L&D. Evaluate the effectiveness of all learning and development initiatives and report on the these. Drive and maintain a continuous learning approach
  • To manage the L&D budget, making the best use of Gail’s resources
  • Increase engagement and drive participation through effective storytelling, communications, and marketing, using the appropriate channels to build awareness of L&D programs and tools and create a compelling message about its value

  • Ability to design L&D tools and materials to develop capability in our teams including at the leadership and management level
  • Ability to manage a financial budget
  • Ability to understand the commercial impacts of decisions that are made, able to read dashboards and company scorecards
  • Able to assimilate and interpret data and feedback to inform decisions, problem solving and take key action
  • Excellent team management skills, support the development of the wider Learning & Development team
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work on own with minimal supervision and use sound judgment
  • Excellent written & spoken communication skills. Able to communicate, influence and adapt style to people on all levels within the organization
  • Highly resilient and able to adaptable to change
