About the job

Following our announcement this week that Yuup will be launching in Birmingham in the summer of 2022, we are looking for two Business Development Executives (we call them Experience Curators) to help build our community in Birmingham.

After an amazing start to trading in 2021 with our launch city Bristol, we are looking for at least two people to take responsibility for growing our community of experience hosts in Birmingham. If you have experience building partnerships with local businesses, have a flair for discovering exciting new things to do, and are looking for experience working in a creative, ambitious and friendly environment then this could be the perfect role.

Yuup helps local individuals and enterprises create, promote and host experiences, and helps customers find original, inspiring and rewarding things to do and gift in their local community. Since launch nearly 300 Bristol experience hosts have joined our platform yuup.co offering over 500 local experiences across 6 categories: arts & culture, crafts, food & drink, health & wellbeing, nature & animals and sports & adventure. We now want to help people discover experiences that fully represent Birmingham and the communities that make up this great city. We’re looking for people who really know and love Birmingham, want to champion it and help others discover it.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be part of an existing team of Experience Curators, reporting to our Growth & Partnerships Manager.

You will be responsible for discovering new experience hosts in Birmingham and working as part of a team to drive the growth of our community.

This is a full-time role, initially on a 6-month contract. There will be a base salary of £21k per annum, plus a bonus with an OTE of £30k. We’re looking for people who are based in Birmingham, but more importantly who are incredibly well connected to the city.

We will provide full training on Yuup and the benefits of our platform and we will also cover the cost of you doing one experience a quarter so that you can really get to know our existing community of experience hosts.

In Particular, You Will

take responsibility for seeking out and signing up new hosts in Birmingham
own a monthly sales target
champion local and everything that is great about Birmingham and specifically arts & culture, crafts, food & drink, health & wellbeing, nature & animals and sports & adventure communities
be an ambassador for Yuup, engaging with potential new hosts and helping them to understand the opportunity that Yuup can offer
work with potential hosts to:
identify existing experiences that we can showcase on Yuup
shape new experiences, identify collaborators (the yoga teacher and the chef who co-create an experience) and help bring them to life
be responsible for completing the sign up of new hosts and work with the rest of the Yuup team to ensure they are then successfully and quickly onboarded
work with Yuup’s Marketing Manager to create marketing campaigns to support host acquisition in Birmingham. Examples might include a monthly meet-up, a Facebook group or joining local events.

really understand the different communities within Birmingham
be able to demonstrate a track record in engaging people and building relationships
be able to sell – the community network kind of selling that is!
be excellent at keeping tabs on the many different conversations you’ll have about Yuup and always follow up on every conversation
be comfortable engaging with a wide range of potential hosts from individuals with a passion they would like to share, to local independent businesses
have boundless energy – able and willing to help future hosts unlock opportunities
be ambitious and excited to join Yuup as we embark on the next stage of our journey.

Ideally, you will also have a strong social following.
