We are seeking a Sales & Marketing Manager for the LAND Business Unit, within Qioptiq Ltd.

The Role

We are seeking a Sales & Marketing Manager to promote existing and emerging Land Business Unit products. The role is fast-paced, demanding and rewarding.

You will work autonomously to identify, develop and win business opportunities in our key markets within the Defence Industry.

Due to our growing global customer base, the role will also focus on maintaining relationships for current and future business opportunities by using and developing your expert understanding of the Land Business Unit products and our technology strategy.

Typical Activities Will Include But Not Limited To

  • High levels of involvement with internal multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver bids (from proposal through to completion).
  • Represent customer requirements to the technical team to define solutions for proposal and development.
  • Assessment of bid opportunities, overseeing preparation and submission including the definition of commercial, cost and technical elements.
  • Lead and manage regular communications with internal project teams, key stakeholders, and Business Development Director.

The Candidate

It is essential that all candidates have the following:

  • Defence industry experience and/or demonstrated Sales & Marketing experience associated with hi-tech products and services
  • Sound commercial acumen, with a positive track record of achievement in your current and previous roles supported by a technical aptitude and an understanding of business and marketing.
  • Experience and business focus demonstrated through exceptional influencing and relationship-building expertise developed because of outstanding communication skills
  • High motivation, responsiveness, and focus, also possessing meticulous attention to detail – crucial for ensuring customer requirements are fully understood and met
  • Enthusiasm, confidence and professionalism with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and negotiate in all elements of the role, along with seamless organisation and time/work management skills
  • A high standard of general education, and conversant with Microsoft office applications – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally, sometimes at short notice (full/valid driving licence & valid passport)
